The ambiance is frequently highlighted for its cozy, calm, and friendly vibe, enhanced by thoughtful interior decor. Additionally, the attentive and warm service, often attributed to knowledgeable and kind staff, contributes significantly to the overall positive experience. The Giddy Gannet’s reputation as a community hub that caters to both locals and visitors alike is a recurring theme, making it a recommended destination for those seeking quality food, great coffee, and a comfortable social setting.
Will has really created a magical little spot here at The Giddy Gannet in St. Monans. A place where the local community and tourists alike can come together for great coffee, a bite to eat, and wonderful conversation. The scones are incredible (make sure to try one of the stuffed scones if you haven’t already!) I’m told the recipe is an age-old secret, stolen under cover of night centuries ago, from the Greek Goddess, Hestia — and then smuggled to Scotland to be forever guarded by Will’s family. The cafe is dog friendly and also caters to those with gluten allergies. Your dogs will love it here, especially if you feed them a bit of bacon or sausage under the table. Sean, Tatiana, and the staff are all very friendly and provide service with smiles and positivity. Actually, I think our dog Stella loves them as much as she loves us. I can’t say enough good things about the Giddy Gannet - it’s one of our favourite go-to places for a morning coffee fuel-up that feeds both the body and the soul. **Be warned, however — If you DON’T like great coffee, scones, soup, cakes, and service, or if a mediocre cafe is just more your vibe — then you should probably consider somewhere else.** Just go to the Giddy Gannet, tell them I sent you, and thank me later. Cheers!
Absolutely the best coffee, pastries and scones around!! Stayed in St. Monans for a week and came here just about every day. Highly recommend! The atmosphere is calm and friendly and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Try the Wee Porker it is so tasty!
What a wonderfully charming place! I had a nut slice cake and a flat white – both were decent, though nothing extraordinary. That said, the local cake was an absolute treat, and the flat white was spot on, easily five stars. The staff (or perhaps the owner?) were incredibly kind and couldn’t have been more helpful. I also adored the interior – the blue and white colour scheme really brought back that lovely seaside vibe for me.
The perfect seaside cafe. This gem has amazing cakes, delicious sandwiches with local bread and wide range of delicious ice creams in the summer. The coffee is also outstanding. The cherry on the cake is the staff who are lovely and incredibly skilled.
Amazing food and staff. We had the veggie soup and hot smoked salmon bagel along with decaff coffee, cheese scone and cinnamon bun. Lots of salmon in the bagel which was great and the coffees are made by proper baristas. Cosy and warm atmosphere. Good veggie/vegan options. highly recommend! Very dog friendly.
The East Neil Skipper was to die for the salmon 10/10 and the wee porker was very tasty too and was a great cup of tea, also everything was warm a must visit
Lovely wee cafe. Salmon bagel was excellent & the homemade cinnamon swirls were amazing. Definitely have to try then if you get the chance. Will 100% be back!
Great coffee, delicious cakes and nice people. A little gem, tucked away in a lovely village.
